Maintenance Payments and Fines

If you have been ordered by a court or the Child Support Agency (CSA) to make maintenance payments to an ex-spouse and/or in respect of your children, or to pay a fine, you may be tempted to simply cease making such payments when you find yourself in financial trouble. However if you allow substantial maintenance arrears to accumulate, or fail to pay a fine, you may become liable to a prison sentence. |
